For those of us who thrive on fast breaking news or comments the new format that yahoo pushed out is useless. When I log on in the AM I do NOT want to see the 200-300 posts from last night - I want to see the one 18 minutes ago. When I click on it, I'm escorted against my will to a long list of threaded posts that I need to scroll past to get to the message. If they had just sorted in reverse order it would have been better - but no one seemed to listen to our comments. I have moved to investorvillage and find their customer support outstanding and they listen!! I think I'll just go ahead and switch my e-mail while I'm at it - yahoo just pissed me off.

Now that a few days have gone by and I've tried it more than once, I still find the new format hard to scan quickly. I've added more comments to the main post above.

As a user of their message boards since their inception, I find the new changes useless. Most investors that I know have established a list of posters whose opinion they have come to trust. If that investor replies to a message in the new format you will never see it without looking at an entire thread. Further they have destroyed the ability to see messages chronologically. If you casually look at some of the boards for messages over the last week, I think you'll see that many if not most are very unhappy. As a systems engineer myself, it is apparent that yahoo developers have no understanding of how their product is used by the customer. Yahoo has turned a trusted tool into a mess. and most of us have set up alternatives on other sites as a result. I for one will never post on them again and I don't think I am alone.

First CNBC changes format to enhance "Glitz" and reduce content and now Yahoo follows suite. Change is not always progress.

I disagree with Christian. I don't care how "good" that message is. Just show me the latest messages. I see no need for a "good" message that is decades ago.

Our new site that you mention, www.InstantBull.com officially launches tomorrow. I'm interested to hear what people (candidly) think about both the new Yahoo Finance stock forums and InstantBull.com - our patent pending interface intends to make it easier to quickly view stock messages from Yahoo Finance as well as all the other leading (free) forums. Just hover over messages - no need to click!

We also have a really quick way of viewing stock centric info from all the free online stock research sites.

Cheers, Gal, CEO InstantBull, Inc.

Ho,

I am somewhat miffled by the reaction so far in regards to this new message board structure by yhoo. IMHO it is signifcanlty better with threaded view as I do not have to waste time with post who's content was worthless.
